Jones Bootmaker was founded by Alfred and Emma Jones in 1857. Born as a family business, it has become an integral part of the British footwear industry and a trusted source of beautifully crafted footwear on the British high street.
In 2018 Pavers Shoes acquired Jones Bootmaker, bringing it full circle back into the hands of a family-owned business with traditional values and a passion for footwear.
Jones Bootmaker operates as a multi-channel retailer with over 20 stores nationwide, and a growing online presence. The brand prides itself on using quality leathers and expert construction methods to provide luxury footwear at affordable prices.
As part of Pavers, we remain acquisitive, highly profitable, and are an ever-growing, independent family-run business, employing over 1,900 people.

Our teams
- Retail
Our Retail teams are the very heart of our business and the reason our customers come back time and time again and leave our stores happier. Life in our stores is fast paced and exciting, with a team that feels like family.
- Warehouse
Our busy and state of the art distribution centre sees all our footwear organised, sorted and despatched to both stores and direct to customers. Based in York, and with a planned expansion in 2025, life in our Warehouse is never boring.
- Head Office
We’re very proud of our British heritage and delighted to call York home. All of our Head Office departments are located here and it’s where all of our teams work tirelessly to ensure that every customer and every colleague has a unique and positive experience.
